For the eighth year in a row, The TriFactory is proud to present the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon, our flagship running race inviting runners from around the world to #RaceThroughHistory at one of the most iconic locations on Earth: the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Taking place on Friday 11th & Saturday 12th December 2026, Egypt’s signature running event will once again welcome thousands of runners from across the globe to experience a truly unique race through 5,000 years of history.
The event features three distances: 5K, 10K, and the 21K Half Marathon, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities. Both the 10K and 21K courses are certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
Runners will be able to pick up their race packs at the Official Pyramids Half Marathon Race Expo during the three days preceding the race.
The Expo takes place at Mall of Arabia in the El Sheikh Zayed district. The Expo will be operational on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for runners to pick up their Race Packs, attend the Race Briefings, and visit the exciting booths set up by our sponsors and partners.

2025 Race Courses
100% authentic. 100% amazing. The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon takes you up close and personal to the last remaining Ancient Wonder of the World, offering runners the opportunity to choose from three fantastic distances: 5K, 10K, and 21K.
The race course features several rolling hills and inclines, particularly for the Half Marathon runners, creating a rewarding and memorable challenge while running through the breathtaking surroundings of the Giza Pyramids Plateau.
The race courses currently displayed on our website are from the 2025 edition.
Any changes to the race routes for the 2026 edition will be confirmed over the coming weeks and communicated via our website and social media channels.
As with many major races around the world, the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon will adopt a strict cut-off time in order to maintain the level of competition for each distance and due to the inability to block off the roads indefinitely while runners complete their race. The cut-off time for the 5K is 09:00am, 10K and 21K is 10:00 am.
Every Pyramids Half Marathon participant (21K, 10K, & 5K), receives an iconic finisher’s medal upon successful completion of their race. Kindly note that runners who do not finish the race will not be entitled to a race medal. Rankings will be organised in overall and age group categories and certificates will be available online. Overall winners (top three males and top three females for each distance) will receive special prizes.
Due to regulations inside the Giza Plateau, private car access is not permitted.
Participants can reach the event using:
• Official Race Buses departing from 10 pick-up points across Cairo

Full transport logistics and pick-up points will be announced closer to race day.
Tickets for the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon include the full Race Pack, access to the Giza Pyramids Plateau, and entry to the Race Expo, where all runners must collect their race pack prior to race day.

Age is calculated based on year of birth.
The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon will be organised in accordance with international standards and the rules and regulations set forth by World Athletics, the Egyptian Athletics Federation, and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
Doping controls will be regulated by the relevant authorities, and the Race Organiser reserves the right to request random drug testing of any athlete at the event.

Ticket Terms & Conditions:
1. Payment of tickets can be made online.
2. Ticket Changes: Ticket holders may change their race choice before the General Registration Deadline by canceling the ticket and purchasing a new one. In this case, the new ticket will be purchased at the price point valid at the new date of purchase. If the new date of purchase falls under a new ticketing phase, then ticket buyers will not benefit from the lower price they had paid during an earlier ticket phase.
3. Ticket Cancellation: Ticket holders can cancel their tickets before the General Registration Deadline and receive the full amount paid as credit in their electronic wallet, to be used for future purchases. For a step-by-step guide on how to cancel your ticket, please visit our FAQs here.
4. Following the General Registration Deadline, no changes or cancellations will be possible, regardless of personal or medical circumstances, including COVID-19 or otherwise. A full refund will only be allowed in the event that a government-declared lockdown is enforced and the race is cancelled or postponed.
5. Tickets cannot be transferred/resold to other participants under any circumstances. At the Expo/Race Pack Pick-Up, participants must present a valid photo ID that matches their ticket, in order to receive their Race Pack Pick-Up.
6. Running on behalf of someone else or sneaking into the race without a ticket will result in a permanent ban from The TriFactory events.
7. Ticket fees do not include Value Added Tax (14% VAT).
8. Ticket fees do not include accommodation or transportation.
